Over the years, the building and grounds have been revised several times. Initially the building stood alone on the site, and was built as a gas station. A third door and a lift was added to the service area to make another service bay. Islands were removed and the paved parking are was increased. The back of the lot was fenced. The fuel tanks were removed according to city regulations. When the city of Albuquerque decided to start a city-wide emissions program, we added a separate building at the front of the lot to handle emission testing. When the front of the office was accidentally opened early one Sunday morning by an out of control car, the office windows and inside counters were modernized. About two years after the emissions program started, a semi tractor without trailer took a late night detour into the emission building knocking the building off its foundation. Even though we hadn’t thought the 2 year old building to be outdated, it had to be rebuilt. At that time, we also added landscaping.

The business has grown and changed along with the buildings and lot. In the intervening 22 years, Gene has steadily worked to keep himself and his technicians informed about the newest techniques and equipment. Although Gene is an ASE certified master technician, he continues to attend schools for updating and advanced training. His other 2 auto technicians are working on various levels of ASE certification. We also have an emission tech to provide emission certificates for vehicles for several nearby shops as well as for our own customers.

Today the business has expanded to include routine maintenance, service and repair and to include many other makes of vehicles, primarily Volvos & Japanese imports as well as Volkswagens. We are often asked "as a favor" to work on our regular customers’ "other cars", which also include domestically manufactured vehicles.

We plan to continue growing and changing as the automotive industry and needs of our customers require.
